La Poterne du Château de Fleury

La Poterne is an hour drive away from Paris, just a short walk away from Barbizon and fifteen minutes from Fontainebleau. It overlooks the exceptional square court of Château de Fleury-en-Bière.
This old guard tower, dating from the 17th century, has become today a rather surprising “perched house”. Access is through a small hidden stairway under the porch.
The Poterne is situated on three levels and offers an opportunity for a truly unique stay. The main room groups together astutely a comfortable living room, a dining room table and a very beautiful kitchen. The huge windows and its oculus have a full view of the château. The very soft tones and the country furniture dating from the start of 18th century renders the rooms refined with a cosy atmosphere. Each floor has a double room, both sophisticated and cosy, and a private retro boudoir look bathroom. It is doted with a true old fashioned bathtub in cast iron.
